FAQ

Quick answers to the questions we hear most.

Is My Mahjongg free?

Yes — completely free. No account, no sign-up, nothing you must pay to play.

Do I need the official NMJL card?

Yes. My Mahjongg is a bring-your-own-card trainer — you play against the current year's National Mah Jongg League card, which the app never shows or reproduces (it's copyrighted). If you don't have one yet, you can buy the official card from the NMJL.

Why can't I see the computer players' tiles?

Just like a real table, opponents keep their hands concealed — you only see what they expose (Pungs, Kongs, Quints) and what they discard. That keeps practice honest and realistic.

Can I undo a move?

Not yet. Play carefully — just like at a real table, a discard is final once it's made. Undo may arrive in a future update.

What is "Call Dead"?

Calling your hand dead concedes the round: you can no longer win or make exposures, and the game skips your turns — but you keep watching the round play out, which is handy for training when you've lost track of your hand.

How does the Scorecard work?

The Scorecard (in the gear menu) tracks your wins, losses, wall games, and streaks, right on your device. It also has a quick link to buy the official NMJL card — My Mahjongg never reproduces the card itself.

Does it work offline?

Yes. My Mahjongg is a Progressive Web App — visit it once (or install it), and it keeps working without an internet connection.

Is my data saved anywhere?

Only in your browser's local storage, on your device. There's no account and no server — nothing about your games is ever sent anywhere.
